China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will lead Pakistan’s economy towards strength and new investment opportunities will be created.

LAHORE (Chairman Punjab Higher Education Commission Professor Dr. Shahid Munir has said that we are looking forward to the construction of Tapi Gas Pipeline, it will connect Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan, China Pakistan Economic Corridor will lead Pakistan’s economy towards strength and new investment opportunities will arise. By connecting businesses and markets, we can drive economic growth by creating new trade and investment opportunities and jobs. He was speaking at the opening ceremony of the three-day international conference organized by Punjab University Department of History and Studies on the theme of ‘South Asia and Central Asia Reconnected’ at Al Razi Hall. Ambassador of Kazakhstan Mr. Yerzen Kistifan, Vice Chancellor of Punjab University Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood, representative of Conrad Edinor Stufting Dr. Eleanor Zeno, Chairman of History Department Prof. Dr. Mehboob Hussain, Historian Prof. Dr. Iftikhar Malik, nationally and internationally renowned researchers, scholars were present at the conference. , faculty members and students participated in large numbers.

Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir further said that Central and South Asia is full of different cultures, languages ​​and history, and promoting regional connectivity is essential to unleash the potential of this diverse and dynamic region. He said regional connectivity, though important, is not only about physical infrastructure like roads, railways and airports, but is also about people-to-people connectivity, exchange of ideas and knowledge, including trade and investment. He said the development of new highways, railways and ports is changing the way people and goods move across borders, creating new opportunities for trade, investment and tourism.

Ambassador of Kazakhstan Mr. Yerzen Kistifan said that South Asia and Central Asian countries should work together to increase all commercial, cultural, religious and historical ties for the development of the region. He said that peace in Afghanistan is necessary for the region, while the war between Russia and Ukraine is causing damage to the world. He said that Ukraine is a big country for wheat production, which has affected many countries. He said that we should not look to others for the development, peace and prosperity of our region. He said that peaceful diplomatic negotiations are the need of the hour for all the countries of the region.

Dr. Khalid Mahmood said that both regions are facing threats of security and extremism and climatic and environmental problems and they can be solved through mutual cooperation. It will provide an opportunity to get familiar with new patterns. Delegates from universities of four provinces including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar, and eight other countries, are participating in the three-day international conference.
