Introduction
In an era of ever-evolving knowledge and cutting-edge technologies, it has become essential to narrow the gap between academia and industry. The role of career counseling and job placement centers has therefore assumed an important role as they extend various trainings and student services ranging from resume writing and presentational skills to interviewing techniques and placements.
Through the CCC activity grants program, PHEC intends to support career development activities including company presentations, on-campus job fairs, as well as seminars and workshops on important skills. This program allows higher education institutions including universities and colleges to apply for grants through a competitive process to organize activities that will support students in exploring career opportunities.
The activities to be funded through CCC activity grants include seminars, workshops and job fairs with the following intended outcomes:
- Seminars
- Engage students in discussion of an academic subject for gaining a better insight into areas that interest them as a future career option
- Motivate students to implement skills they might learn through seminars and increase their knowledge
- Workshops
- Involve students in hands-on activities to help them gain practical skills in their areas of interest
- Provide students with activity-based opportunities to improve their job-search skills
- Job Fairs
- Expose students to placement opportunities in industry
- Provide students networking opportunities with companies
