Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, Chairperson of Punjab Higher Education Commission, graced the International Conference on Textile Clothing (VIII) as the Chief Guest, organized by the School of Design and Textile at the University of Management & Technology, Lahore.

In his address, he highlighted the shift towards sustainable practices in the textile industry, emphasizing the need to minimize the environmental footprint and embrace technological advancements. Pakistan’s rich textile heritage and its competitive advantage were also praised.
Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir emphasized the significance of renewable energy solutions to combat greenhouse gas emissions and encouraged investment in skill development and training programs to enhance productivity and innovation. He stressed the vital role of universities in promoting growth, research, and innovation within the sector. Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir also visited the Graduate Thesis Exhibition at the conference and congratulated the brilliance of young minds and their potential to shape a better world.
