Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, Chairperson PHEC, participated as “Guest of Honour” at the International Conference on Trends and Challenges on Health Sciences organized by the National Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology, University of Punjab. Addressing the participants, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir said that the commercialization of stem cells and therapeutic proteins will benefit Pakistan by cutting the economic burden while making advanced therapies of greater efficacy available to patients in Pakistan. He further said that the import of medical testing products causes a huge burden on Pakistan’s economy, and their indigenous production will increase their availability, cost-effectiveness, and outreach to patients, as well as create job opportunities for young scientists in related fields.
