Chairman PHEC Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid attended a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Bazdar to review the steps taken and planned for the future for the promotion of higher education in Punjab. The meeting was also attended by Provincial Minister for Higher Education Raja Yassir Humayun Sarfraz, Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education Department (HED) Ms. Irum Bukhari, and Chairman HEC Pakistan Prof. Dr. Tariq Banuri.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister directed to take effective and integrated measures for the promotion of higher education. He said that all kinds of resources will be provided for the promotion of higher education in Punjab. He maintained that the Punjab government was setting up universities in backward districts for which further steps will be taken in consultation with the Higher Education Commission. He further said that effective mechanisms will be put in place to address future challenges and youth will be empowered by providing quality education.
