Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, Chairperson of the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC), participated in the Kazakhstan Alumni Forum-Second Meeting and delivered a lecture on “Science Technology Innovation in the Context of the 4th Industrial Revolution”. The event was held at the Kazakhstan House in Lahore on April 29, 2023.

Addressing the audience Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir has said that we are currently standing on the threshold of the fourth industrial revolution. In the coming periods, humans will compete with machines. To solve new social, and political problems, technological, and economic models will have to be adopted. The world is teaching globalization in its curriculum. Unfortunately, we are still suffering from regional and religious bias in the social sciences. Dr. Shahid Munir said that we have to promote investment, education models, and technology in public policy under the high-tech strategy. Internet of things, globalization, artificial intelligence, automation, supercomputing, and quantum computinProduction can be increased by 30 percent by using Industry 04.

Dr. Shahid Munir said that the threats to human life in the 21st century include population growth, environmental changes, war, famine, and economic instability. Our management systems also need to evolve. He said that the autopilot technology has improved so much that in the coming days, the planes may become fully automatic. He also emphasized the need for cooperation between academic institutions, industry, and the government. Dr. Shahid Munir praised the activities of the Kazakhstan Alumni Forum and said that today’s event.
