A notable development in the field of higher education and research in Punjab took place when a team of experts from the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) Committee carried out an on-site evaluation of the Punjab Innovation and Research Challenge Award (PIRCA) Research Projects at Okara University, BZU, Multan, Government College University, Faisalabad and University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore (Faisalabad Campus).

This committee, which includes distinguished members such as Prof. Dr. Nadir Hussain, Prof. Dr. Kamran Asharaf, Prof. Dr. Tayyab Hussain, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Imtiaz Shafiq, Dr. Zaigham Abbas, Dr. Muhammad Mumtaz Ali Khan, and Waqas Ahmad, undertook this mission to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the overall performance and impact of the PIRCA projects.
